Mine but could be Yours. This stunning pair of vintage cinema seats finished in silky soft Design Archives 'Grand Tiffany' velvet will bring a touch of Art Deco glamour and style to any home. Ideal as a stunning space saving alternative to a sofa, seating in a hallway or to furnish a home cinema. The curved back and deep sprung seats add comfort to the beautiful 1930’s Art Deco style. These seats were designed to be sat in for long periods.
This velvet looks stunning paired with the gold painted cast iron fittings. We have also added a little extra on this set with the beautiful velvet also extended to the seat backs.
The chairs are fixed to a solid wooden board, which means they are free standing and stable. But you can choose to remove it and to screw them directly into the floor instead.
Being vintage, measurements do vary a little from seat to seat, so sizes are approximate:
Height 80cm
Width 120cm
Depth Seat Up 57cm
Depth Seat Down 67cm
Materials
Velvet: This luxurious velvet by Design Archives has a short pile but a silky super soft feel, with a touch of golden sheen. Truly stunning. It is durable too, which means it should stay looking gorgeous for many years to come. Just gently brush in the direction of the nap with a soft furniture brush.
Wood: The wooden top rail, arm rests, curved seat backs and seat bases are all stripped back and refinished with a hardwax oil. There will be marks in the wood due to their age, but this adds to their unique character.
Metal: Cast iron legs and fittings have been cleaned and repainted, but due to their age there will be dents and marks, or character as we like to call it.
Fillings: The chairs have deep sprung seats and we replace all the fillings with FR compliant materials, using natural traditional materials as much as possible.

The theatre seats we work with are originally from the 1930s/40s and have been salvaged over the years from theatres as they get renovated. They have had a good life before we get our hands on them so will never look brand new or have a factory-perfect finish. There will be imperfections and ageing, but that's what makes each one unique and special. We always choose our pieces carefully, so they will last for many years to come.
